I have been buying these Hindu Philosophy books for no known reason other than I have been attracted to them for the last few years. I even did not read a lot I just had them for some unknown reason. I could not quite grasp why I kept looking at these old Hare Krishna books, even the Gita and buying some as well. All this was awfully puzzling as I was leaning towards all the Dalai Lamas books and going to singing bowl meditation, monk talks, I have loads of Buddha’s as well, another attraction. I also did a 10-day Vipassana retreat in 2009, which turned, around my life for the better.
More on Hindu Philosophy Now in My World
So here and now why was I attracted to buying these books for a year prior to joining a Practical Philosophy group, which strangely enough is in the street name that my sister-in-law called my niece after? It is an unusual name as well as I walked in to see my favorite paintings on the wall of Botticelli. What was more interesting is as the year unfolded it seemed to follow the eastern Philosophy or early Hindu teachings. Amazing how you are lead to these things, someone else is directing your life almost, leading you to where you are supposed to be.
What Hindu Philosophy Now in My World I am reading
I am currently reading “Daily Readings” of Sivananda or I should say Swami Sivananda, he seems to resonate with me, like Eckhart Tolle teachings, Adyashanti, Sant Mat. My Journey continues, my parrot loves me reading the Gita to him.
I also just got introduced to Yoga Nidra, again eastern philosophy practise.
I know it is December, everyone shopping for Xmas presents in My World, but does it matter to me, NO. It is lovely for children, but for me it was never very important, I see it as so commercial, that is my viewpoint. My sister-in-law loves all this, buying presents, the meals, me it is suppose to have deeper significance. I worked on cruise ships for 18 years so that was just hard work time, even when I worked land-based casinos it was busy time.
Lovely Rose in December in My World
See this lovely rose I have been doing the Robin Sharma the Monk who Sold the Ferrari's meditation with the heart of the rose, this one is one of the stems that rooted and grew into this amazing small rose bush. So it is just showing me that it is all in the mind if you believe you can do something you can. I believed it would grown and it did, my dad said of no it would not.
I picked up Byron Katie book "Loving What Is" and randomly opened it and started reading one of the pages. I heard all about it from the girls in my Philosophy group, they all raved about it, I suddenly had a illuminating moment. I had lost a lot of money in a venture in the Canary Island of Tenerife with a good friend (not so good now). I suddenly realized with the 4 questions you ask that it was MY CHOICE no one had actually forced me to do anything from handing money over or simply staying there when I became AWARE of some unpalatable facts like my friend was doing drugs and all her surrounding friends were as well. I should have chosen to RUN LIKE THE WIND, but I chose to stay for 3 months.
Another thing I realized was that I had never liked the island of Tenerife, my intuition had always been telling me this, I chose to ignore it. I had spent a lot of time there, on one of the Airtours cruise ships I had been based out of there. The north of the island, the mountains are beautiful, one lovely Belgian lady an interior decorator, the only one that resonated with me, showed me the beauty of the north and the island. She even taught me how to do a mosaic mirror and how to do jewelry, lovely lessons I learnt. I returned to Tenerife several times more working on board a cruise ship, but what a lovely feeling of freedom as I would sail from there.
Choice you make effects your life in My World
I worked through my lifetime and all the bad memories and good and thought about all the choices I made, also I used the 4 questions and turned it around from relationships, where one guy did not trust me enough to believe me, I realized it was me that never trusted him. This is a very useful book for all your problem in life.
Some of the lessons I learnt from my Choice in My World
I was also given Gary Zukav books on Soul Stories, brilliant book as well, so inspiring, he talks about the 5 senses and your intuition.
The lessons I have learnt are TRUST your intuition, be aware that you make the CHOICE in life, not someone else, you can shift your energy very quickly by simply changing your thought.
I discovered this little book in a secondhand bookstore called Labyrinths & Mazes of South Africa by Marielle Renssen. I put it down then ended up going back to pick it up, I guess it follows on from my fascination with Sacred Geometry. I then went on a retreat in the Karoo and there was a labyrinth on this olive farm near Vanwyksdorp, it is in the book as well. I then did one at Clovelly, Joanna Castle labyrinth of indigenous grasses, it was slightly overgrown when I did it, but in the book it says that it is one of the grids of energy meridians. Quite fascinating really…
Another of these Labyrinths in My World
Now I have just walked another Labyrinth at Bodhi Kaya (a Buddhist retreat venue) also on a retreat, this one was so amazing with all these little worms, you really had to concentrate not to step on them, they were sunbathing or really eating all the succulents. The outside had all kinds of lavender; the inner circle had these gorgeous vibrant orange flowers. There were all little lizards whizzing in and out of the labyrinth into the flowers and butterflies as well, of course some bees busy working away getting there pollen.
My World and the carry on with the Labyrinths
So I will make it my mission to do more of these Labyrinths in the book, work my way through them, amazingly in Cape Town there are quite a lot. The book also talks about Table Mountain energy and that the nodal point of the ley lines form a 3m eight petal flower. So my journey continues with the Labyrinths.
I am reading Robin Sharma’s Discover Your Destiny with the Monk who Sold his Ferrari; I have read the earlier original book brilliant concepts for changing your life. In this book he talks about the movies the Matrix, I was thinking oh I got to get this out from the video shop but then later it came to me that I probably have it right under my nose and if I only took a look it would be there. Yes I did have it, like so many other things I have found they are right under my nose. How many other things in life have I missed like this by not realizing it was right here?
Anyway back to the Matrix, he says its one of the best Philosophy movies every made, did I look at it with different eyes at this time of my life. I like the one with the red and blue pill and it’s all up to you with your choices, living as you have always lived or step up to your biggest life. Wow, pretty powerful really, also how we buy into the perception of how things are meant to be, by our parents, teachers, and how wrong it really is or how untrue this is. We are all destined for bigger things in life as long as we tap into it.
I then found this book Water Logic by Edward de Bono, my sister mentioned to me, I loved Dr Emoto’s The Secret Life of Water and I had seen a movie on water by Russian scientist. In the Water Logic he talks about the perception we all have say you see a house and how we all have different thoughts or perceptions. I have only started reading it but it looks quite brilliant about rock logic and water logic, water is always flowing if we could get life to flow likes this it would be brilliant.
The Truth in My World with ear
Another great little find is a book by Swami Venkatesananda, “Living Meditation”; it starts with this I will put a small excerpt in.
When I have learned what it is to learn, then it is possible to look at the question itself and find the answer. It is quite easy. What do you find common in these two words, ‘hear’ and ‘learn’? EAR. There is an ear in the word ‘hear’ and there is an ear in the word ‘learn’. So I must find the ear, which hears, not the ones on the side of my face. This is a piece of flesh, and in spite of the fact that they are kept ever open by the Creator, we often close them inwardly. The heart of the word ‘heart’ is also ear; the very soul of the heart is ear. So hearing is not done by this hole in the side of your face, but hearing is really done by the heart. If I know how to hear with my heart then I learn. The learning ear is in the heart.
Beautiful in its TRUTH......
What a wonderful feeling being in nature can invoke in a person, especially if the sun is shining down, all weathers have beauty in them it is just being aware of them.
Yesterday I went for a wonderful walk to a Waterfall in beautiful surroundings, with magnificent views of the sea and the mountain, stunning, powerful rock face in the gorge.
On the way nature was playing along with an amazing array of flowers, it is spring here, lovely purple flowers and some proteas. Of course we could here the nature sounds of the water cascading in the distance. We could also hear the music from down below, where there is a shelter for homeless, it was Sunday, it sounded like melodic music from a church.
Everything was just as it was meant to be.
My World in Nature at the Waterfall
On arrival at the waterfall, not as full as the cascading sound would lead you to believe, but there was water. We also had a magical visit from some baby baboons at first on the rock face across the way, then a few more, and a few more, some people got a bit jumpy as a larger baboon made his way up the little stream across the rocks. Us humans are so quick to judge, as I watched, he put his face in the water, simply to drink water, then his foot went in as well. Another baboon joined him as well.
I guess we should not be so quick to judge, animals are so much more in the “now” than us, they were simply following there natural instinct which was to find water, it was a fairly warm day. It is the innate sense in every animal that inhabits a natural environment finding its way to a waterhole, us humans also need water.
My World in Nature with Gratitude
Love and Gratitude
quote from Louise Hay Gratitude A Way of Life
remember "You cannot be grateful and unhappy at the same time"
In a dark time, the eye begins to see.
I watched how the bees get pollen from the lavender flowers, absolutely fascinating to watch. My parrot is fascinated as well, I guess he is mirroring me, I take him out to get some fresh air and sun.
As far back as I can remember my dad's hobby was beekeeping, we always had bee hives on the property. I can't ever remember getting stung by bees but I have always been very aware of them. I am amazed how hard they actually work, and from that we get natural honey as a result of this, something so sweet with all the different tastes. It depends on the area and what flowers are in abundance. Now as I watch they have moved on to a bright orange nasturtium plant.
My World Now today Deepak Chopra
Today I am on the Law of Intention and Desire, I am getting there, still working on this week after week, I need to surrender to it.
I am working on changing.....
Today I am Accepting What Is, easier said than done, still working on it, people mirror you, so its really you that need to work on you. I was talking to a friend and she get saying to me she could not understand how I gave up working on cruise ships and all that freedom. Well I sat there, I really did not even want to talk about it, now I need to accept that maybe I need to figure out why it was annoying me, other than my blog on cruise ship jobs I have moved on, shifted my energy into another direction. I need to observe and see that this is mirroring and not resist it.
Funny Accepting What Is
The funniest thing was I went for a walk and seen this little girl with a puppy, very young small fluffy one, with a pretty pink lead strapped around, she was carrying him. This little girl was walking if front of her mom, she then put the puppy down and said to him “come on try walking, you can do it”. I could not stop chuckling the puppy gazed up in its innocence. The puppy was accepting what is just as nature intended. After that I heard I carried on walking a few minutes later I heard this rustling in the trees high above I seen a poor squirrel with a small bag of crisps stuck on the front of his face, he was panicking.
Poor thing, he was falling about struggling to get it off, once he came to stillness he managed to get it off. The lesson there, in the stillness, it all became so easy.
Accepting What is and money
I heard this expression today, “Everything I touch makes money”, or was it “Everything I touch is successful”. Is that not great the belief in themselves and accepting what is as a fact, absolutely amazing? If we could all just have that belief and surrender to the universe.
I do Deepak Chopra’s The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, to create success in all areas of your life, so today I am on day 4, which is The Law of Least Effort. I just love working through his books I did the on Synchro Destiny for a couple of years, brilliant book and all the things started to evolve from there. Love and Gratitude
Sometimes the weather is good sometimes it is a bit strange, but this is how it is supposed to be. The morning was quite warm, then suddenly the wind came up and it started getting colder, spring is here but not quite. It is, what is....
So this picture is from when the sea was calm and the sun was shining, what a difference the sun can make.
Flowers in My World
I find flowers of all kinds to be fascinating, I love having roses in my room, the fragrance, I also love the frangipani's, they have a gorgeous aroma about them. Nature is amazing in all ways from the weather, birds, the brightly colored sugar birds singing away.
You just have to be aware of all things in nature even the sea shows its moods as well, nothing like a stormy sea.
As I go through this rainy coldish day I look for the beauty in the flowers and nature, this is my world today.
Feeling all the smells, be it the lawn getting mowed, seeing with my eyes, hearing the sounds of the birds or my own Senegal Parrot Syd talking
away or whistling.
What goes on in My World with my thoughts
I am listening to Eckart Tolle with his wonderful insights and trying to watch my thoughts, coming to stillness, using the senses like above. I also remember seeing that DVD on 212 degrees, just doing that little bit extra, it is a pretty powerful movies. Well this is just a start on My World.....
